The Buffalo Small Press Book Fair has created a new version of the website to act as an archive. It contains press clippings about the Fair, a small gallery of posters & programs, and photos of the event itself. Please take a minute to check it out!
We want to take this time to thank the people who participated in the Fair over the last decade: over a thousand vendors, dozens of teaching artists & presenters, local makers & aficionados of the printed word, and tens of thousands of attendees. We sincerely appreciate your love, support, encouragement, creativity, and tenacity. The city of Buffalo is a better place for your efforts, and we want you to know that the Fair exceeded all of our expectations – it became a regional (even national) movement that catalyzed cultural production, fostered collaborations, and gave authors & artists a voice, as well as a venue to peddle their wares and share their vision.
It’s with a heavy heart that we close the doors on this chapter, but we want you to know that it’s with eyes focused on the future – we hope that everyone who has ever been involved with the Fair will carry its energy & ethos forward – keep making, keep working together, keep promoting marginalized cultural workers, and keep creating inclusive, uncensored spaces!
With Love,
Chris Fritton
